they're growing

yes yes yes, of course they're growing, but isn't it super exciting to see them
g r O W!?!
the lettuces have graced 2 meals already. they're medium bodied, mild flavored, with a slight crunch. can't wait for the tomatoes...though it would appear as though the birds are curious too and have been pecking at the little growths. shoo birds, eat your own food!

amaryllis

it's so exciting to me because it's the second bloom while my mom and gaea are on their third blooms!

redwood empire

en route to boonville, these redwoods ushered us into the other northern california wine valley. the landscape was beautiful, lush hills, grapevines, redwoods, oaks, manzanitas. but man, this is a lot of felled trees. the stacks of 2x's were even more prolific. guess lots of folk are getting decks, planter boxes, picnic tables and benches soon...

ahoy

i can't wait to see these on bags or some outerwear. they're pretty hefty, feels like you have some old coins when they're in your hand.

mushroom forest

i took a great course with ellen babcock at cca last weekend and made these pewter castings. so excited to work with me hands. kind of rudimentary, but so fun. the weight is amazing, these puppies weigh in at about 5.3 ounces a piece. one of 'em has the blackening agent smeared over it, but i kind of like the subtlety of the untarnished ones. there's one stuck in the mold that is a kind of jack in the box for friends. some buttons appearing soon too. we made water clay negatives, wax positives, oil clay positives, plaster molds and hi-YA, poured some plaster in there to get...voila!

bib

perhaps impractical, but so flintstoneserific? i donno, it needs some modification. hb thinks lengthening the shirt will help. the original idea was for a dress. next step, white tent, leather suspenders...

kid in a box

could this be better? ships flat, customizable, and better still, recycle it when the wee one ain't so wee. it even has castors for easy transport of the sleeping seed. from monica rusconi of album di famiglia.

rule the universe

i am a big fan of measuring devices. this deviation from the standard knuckle wrapping tool is a treat; especially for us fantasizing about living in a 2D wooden forest, measuring mushroom cap diameters and shooting off pesky gigantor insects, POW POW!

not the roughstuff emery

this belgian woman, agnes emery does beautiful silkscreens and has fantastic, rich colors. ...must be the cocoalatte. www.emeryetcie.com huzzah to mythological animals and ironwork antler lumieres!

how delightful, sushi's eye view! oishi-ya!

it's a little like that film where the chinese boy (or is he korean?) is given a camera from his grandfather and documents the backs of peoples' heads.
